About the Event
Single use plastic bags can be hard to recycle and seem to be everywhere. Bring your plastic to this event to learn how to turn plastic bags into reusable items. Plastic bags can be melted and fused with parchment paper and a clothes iron. Once melted, this plastic is like leather and can be cut and sewn or woven into other items.
Examples of plastic that can be used for this event: grocery bags, bread bags, plastic mailers, bubble wrap. The quick test is: if it is stretchy, it is good for this event.
Please insure all plastic is clean, washed and free of debris.
Open to all skill levels. Appropriate for ages that can use scissors and a clothes iron. This is a free event. All materials and tools are provided. Materials are 100% post consumer meaning we use only reclaimed, recycled or donated items.
