Donations

Remakery is all about repurposing materials, diverting waste from the landfill and promoting a circular economy. We believe, that by sharing resources both physical and skill sharing, we can do a little to help heal the earth. This happens by connecting with others and assisting them in their remaking journeys.

In-Kind Donations: We are always accepting donations! Consider donating your extra fiber art supplies, sewing tools, unwanted t-shirts and jeans, knitted sweaters or blankets as well as #2 plastics. More information on craft supply donations below.

The easiest way to donate is to bring your items by during one of our pop-up events. Starting February 1, 2025, Donations can be dropped off at the Remaker Space on the 2nd floor of the Main Library in Tacoma. 1102 Tacoma Ave S. Enter through the library or the Community Hub Door.

Monetary Donations: Your support allows us to provide more free programming and increase access in Tacoma. â€‹ Please consider contributing to our general operating costs. Here are examples of what a gift could cover:

$25 - Maintenance of 1 sewing machine 

$50 - Needle felting supplies

$100 - Recycled Darning Tool Production

$250 - Purchase of 1 sewing machine

$400 - A free workshop

Our Mission

Fiber Art Donations

Remakery accepts all types of fiber arts, sewing tools, notions, and crafting resources. If you are unsure if an item is in acceptable condition, do not hesitate to email remakerytacoma@gmail.com and include a picture.

Plastic Donations

Currently, we are accepting Donations of clean plastic. We can only accept Bottle Tops/Lids, Can Toppers and #2 HDPE plastic at this time. If you have a large donation of #5 PP plastic, please email remakerytacoma@gmail.com to see if we will be able to accommodate the donation.

Textile Donations

Remakery uses clean t-shirts, jeans, knitted sweaters, wool and cashmere in any condition, and yarn blankets to remake into other reusable items. If you are unsure if an item is in acceptable condition, do not hesitate to email remakerytacoma@gmail.com and include a picture.
