About the Event
Learn to make your own Hojalata in this drop-in workshop guided by artist: Vaquero Azul.
Hojalata, or tin art, is a traditional art form that involves cutting, shaping, and embossing thin metal sheets, from recycled tin cans. Tin can create a wide range of decorative and functional objects, such as ornaments, mirrors, and religious items. The pieces are frequently painted with vibrant colors.
This workshop will walk you through how to make your own Hojalata tin art.
All supplies, tools, and guidance are provided at this free event. Materials are all post-consumer, meaning they are reclaimed, donated or secondhand.
All ages welcome. Those 14 and younger must have an adult stay to create with them.
