Tacoma Creates is a community supported initiative to increase access to arts, culture, heritage, and science experiences throughout Tacoma by reducing barriers to access and expanding offerings, particularly for underserved youth. In November 2018, Tacoma voters approved Tacoma Creates by 67.2%, passing in every reporting precinct. Tacoma Creates is the first Cultural Access Program under RCW 36.160 to be enacted in Washington State.

Thank you, Tacoma, for supporting Tacoma Creates, which provides critical funding for cultural organizations around the city, including Remakery. Remakery appreciates Tacoma Creates for its support of our impactful community programs, including: free sewing workshops and free crafting workshops.

Check out what's going on in Tacoma on the Events Calendar & Free Programs — Tacoma Creates

Tacoma Creates is funded through a sales tax of one-tenth of one percent. The programs listed above are examples of how Remakery and other cultural organizations are putting this money to work.
